Hard Drives

USB hard drives can be plugged directly into most of the media players listed on this site, the WD HD TV recommends their lines of My Passport or My Book drives.

Cables

Most players require an HDMI cable (not included) for providing the ultimate picture quality. Optical cables are essential if connecting your media player to a surround sound system for decoding DTS sound.

Hard Drive Enclosures

If you have a spare normal PC hard drive already, or if you buy a new one, an inexpensive way of connecting it to your media player is to fit it in an enclosure, such as the one below.
